Zarek was an Imperial Minister of the Kree Empire. He was the one who chose Captain Mar-Vell to be the Kree spy on Earth.[1] Zarek later conspired with Ronan the Accuser to overthrow the Supreme Intelligence, but was defeated by Captain Marvel.[2] Zarek was declared a traitor to the Kree Empire and operated as a renegade, and led a band of Kree malcontents known as the Lunatic Legion. With the Lunatic Legion, he created the deadly Nitro, and joined in a plot to use Captain Mar-Vell to destroy the Supreme Intelligence. Zarek battled and was again defeated by Captain Mar-Vell.[3]
Zarek is a normal Kree man with no superhuman powers; Kree are stronger than Earth humans. Zarek has received Kree Militia training, and has extensive knowledge of the political intricacies of the Kree Empire.
